Professional Experience

Mr. Berg joined Campbell-Hill in 2017 as a Vice President.  He brings 16 years of experience at Southwest Airlines in a variety of management roles at its headquarters in Dallas, Texas.  He specializes in international and domestic network planning, new market research and development, long-term network strategy, network integration, capacity planning and corporate real estate.

Most recently, Mr. Berg managed Southwest’s international expansion, including new destinations, through collaboration with departments across the airline to implement new service and launching major international network expansion from across the Southwest network.  This role encompassed developing growth strategies, route planning and analysis, network forecasting, and competitive analysis for domestic and international market expansion.  His work led to the development of new international terminals in both Houston, Texas and Fort Lauderdale, Florida and to rapid expansion in Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America.  He also planned Southwest Airlines expansion into Cuba, relying on demographic analysis and proxy market studies to estimate air traffic demand patterns. 

Mr. Berg has been a featured speaker at numerous industry conferences and hosted meetings with airports, tourism agencies and business groups from all corners of the Americas to discuss and develop route proposals.  For example, he worked with Belize, Los Cabos, Mexico City, and San Jose (Costa Rica) airports and tourism agencies to expand Southwest Airlines international footprint into Mexico and Central America.  He also met frequently with airports in the Caribbean which led to the commencement of service to the Cayman Islands and additional capacity in markets such as Montego Bay and San Juan. 

In addition to his international planning role, Mr. Berg also served as a manager of Network Planning, International and Domestic Regional Planning, Network Initiatives and Corporate Real Estate.  As a result he has worked with numerous airports on route planning and development, route retention strategies, economic impact studies, economic incentive and rate mitigation strategies, master planning development, lease negotiations, and rates and charges analyses. He also played a key role in the acquisition analysis of AirTran Airways and the network integration planning of the combined airlines.
